ARSENAL Explorer by raybender ARSENAL Explorer by raybender
High Quality Prints FOR SALE here: [link]

this is another Concept Design for a vehicle of my ARSENAL Story. Took me around 3 days..

some parts are rougher than other.. i like that since this is a concept and not an illustration.

let me know what you think! and especially if it fits the Design of Aurelie i posted a few days before... it belongs to the same universe so it has to fit.

The vehicle looks very interesting, I love the windows and lights on the front. Nice work on the mechanisms, suspension, and the smaller details. You should take some time and finish the environment, though. Those rough brush strokes above the vehicle just look off. Other than that, It's wicked xD

The small black dudes need to be better, spend a little more time on them to make them look more realistic and polish the tyres a bit as well also fix the sky background make it a bit more realsitic looking good.

Ha, this is really an all-terrain-vehicle.
And if there's any obstacles it can't go straight over, it'll blast 'em to pieces first. :D

I'm so loving all the techical detail, and hence ofcourse the design itself.
The front window looks a bit strange, but cool nonetheless. :)

Faved, ofcourse! :dummy:

I'm not much of a critic, but to me as a military vehicle those wheels and their associated axles are a massive target for anyone wanting to stop this machine. Adding some armour around those areas would make it far more believable for myself, Not sure how you could do this though without ruining the aesthetic of the vehicle. Otherwise I think it looks awesome.

a thought though, shouldnt guns be on top of it? so you can shoot over ridges and possible covers with less visibility.

maybe try tapering the rear fuselage a little to match the sweeping asthetic of the Aurelie but that's with me REALLY reaching for criticism

very cool work... n the detail is awesome for a concept... i think a military vehicle like the would probably be alot darker n maybe have some form of bullbars on the front... but otherwsie amazing work as always :)

Sweet concept. Not enough people use the independent suspension model when designing all terrain vehicles, it sure looks good on this particular vehicle.

I like the height difference from the wheels and the main section. It shows that this thing can take a fall, because the wheels look like they have good suspension. Very awesome.

Also, I can't help but wonder how insanely powerful the headlights are on the front of that thing. Being that far off of the ground, they must be intense. :D

Last thing: how do you get inside this vehicle? I don't see a door on it, so I'm kinda curious where you enter, and whether you enter from the ground level, or if you have to have a ramp or something in order to get in.

A very impressive vehicle in terms of design. Looks as if it would be quite useful as a planetary exploration vehicle, because it apparently has everything a planetary exploration team would need. I certainly wouldn't mind driving this bad boy!

As always, you never fail to amaze me with the incredible detail and realism your artwork has, no matter what the subject is. This picture, like so many of your other great works, seems almost photographic it has so much detail.

Hi Ray ....hopefully you don't get this twice.....I was writing a reply and it crashed.....weird. Anyways I do not have the Premium so I cannot access critique.

I am continually blown away by the style which you attack each painting with. This piece is another WINNER. The thing that always amazes me is your designs make sense and could become reality in some future world. Superb use of colour, lighting and contrast.....the rest speaks for itself.......WOW

Hey mate, well you called for crits - don't have premium membership but here's a bit of a crit for ya :
I think the colour choices are nice, and the actual design of the vehicle itself is very well done, very believable.
For me, just aesthetically, my only real issue is due to the choice of brush in some sections... I mean this looks as though the whole design (especially the more refined areas) is intended to be a very clean, sharp design. With some of the brush choices for the surrounding environment i think it adds a little too much noise - which ends up detracting a bit from the focus of the image - the vehicle itself.

Hope that helps anyway champ, nice stuff.

I think, although it completely fits Aurelie's color palette, the shapes of this vehicle are not as smooth as Aurelie's. This one shows a much more blocky aggresiveness than the flow of Aurelia's design, although I understand that the Aurelie must be smooth for little to no air-resistance since it's a flying machine. This machine also doesn't show thesame speed at which it is able to travel compared to the Aurelie, which feels really fast. Maybe intentional, but you asked for it. ;p

Apart from that, it looks absolutely insane. I love the sketchy feel of the environment.
