But then I read, this is a 3D render... everything looks so real and I didn't notice it. Okay, the steam is a photomanip, I thought, but finally this looks real.
Like a real photo, the depth of field is pretty good and the background doesn't distract from the cup.
All I think, you could do better is a background without this bright spot on the left.
The reflections of the spoon... raytracing is the way to reality.
The wooden surface and the background seem to be the only things out of the reality. Did you merged the 3D pic of the cup and this photo?
I thing, the idea is brilliant and the technique you used to render this cup is more than perfection.
Finally one of the best 3D pictures i've ever seen!!
I saw some photos like this before but nobody tried to create a 3D version of it. Definitve the first of this style.
