Wau! very kewl.  Would i be wrong to guess it was inspired by the diner of Dexter Jettster? Giggle

Dexter Jettster.. the besalisk owner and operator of Dex's Diner, located on Coruscant.  Obiwan Kenobi went to see Dexter Jettster to ask him about the poison dart that Jango Fett used to kill Zam Wessell with - you are saying you do not know about any of this?
Your image depicts flying ships in sky lanes identical to those common on Coruscant in a futuristic city with a quaint, rustic looking diner - and it certainly is reminiscent of Dex's Diner in all of these ways.:happybounce:

Amazing concept art! I love your portfolio.

Constructive criticism.

The perspective looks slightly wrong on the diner. Everything else looks fantastic.

I love this. This reminds me of some of the concept art from the 1930's worlds fair.

This reminds me very much of a scene from Robert Heinlein's Starman Jones. Any chance it was inspired by it?

Wow, that is cool! And I like how you added that original bit to the sign: "Open 27 hrs," which means that this isn't Earth. Lovely job, Raybender!

I'll bet that this abandoned-looking diner opens come nightfall... and sells the BEST BURGERS IN THE CITY.

I love the contrast of the shiny retro style and the sad reality of irrelevance, an irrelevance created by the futuristic city around it... Well, unless it really is still in business, that is. *wink*

Naaaahh..

No mate, this issue for sure is out of stock now... :(

Henning used to write some tutorials to IFX, and he post them on his website. I think there's a right time to do it, but I'm not sure when. It would be awesome to share your tutorials, your art is fantastic!

Very nicely done!
THe brick detail and lighting is wonderful.
Do you mind if I ask, what brush do you use to get that ';painted' look?

Dang! Does it have that wheel thing that rotates the canvas? Is it a helpful or useless feature?
Reply
:iconraybender:
raybender Featured By Owner Sep 13, 2009
no that whee thing is only on Intuos4.. but ig uess its useless since pressing R is faster to rotate the canvas than moving your hand to the tablet and back to the keyboard..

Ah, I see.

I am still using my trusted Graphire Model CTE-430. Its puny but that makes it very portable.

I'm thinking of getting a new one, if only to get a better pen-pressure sensitivity.

I'm currently studying digital painting under [link]

You have entirely too much fun with lighting and surfaces... as always. I like how the road looks wet. And the burger joint, even in a trashy part of town...I am still in the mood for a burger now. Veddy Groovy :stereo: :ufo:
