this is my entry for the Steampunk Challenge over at cgtalk which ends today..
the image is about a giant machine octopus which is attacking freighters and civil cruisers. Nobody really knows who is behind the huge machine which is attacking the ships for several months now. because the government wasn?t able to react fast enough, the shipowners have hired some brave men and modified some old fishing cutters and equiped them with modern weapons to secure their ships. the unknown attacker seems not very impressed though... its done with photoshop, 10K Wide (yeah i know its big, but this way it was easier to paint the details for me) AND IF YOU LIKE THAT ONE... please take a look at my Dropship too.. and tell me what you think.. -- "Laughter is the best beginning for a friendship and it's by far the bes ending for one" Oscar Wilde.  This is an amazing steampunk piece, its refreshing to see a steampunk machine designed after a creature, such as this giant intimidating octopus here.
You have capture the steampunk style perfectly on the mounted machine gun BRAVO! -- Just because the Mayans were too lazy to finish their calender doesnt mean the world is going to end damnit!  Ooh! Go guy with ray-gun! Slay the robot octopus!
 Wow nice work- I think I have seen some other entries for this one, this on is fantastic. Congrats on the DD.
