the base of this image was for a Tutorial i made for 2dartist magazines August Issue... i took it and painted some stuff over it to make it what it looks like now.. maybe i am going to detail this one day.. heheh.. i always say that and detail never... painting roughly is just more fun.

Love this piece. It's like some kind of dystopian future where humanity fights against killer robots. Will they win? Does it matter?

Impressive technique, I love the lighting and rain. It also intrigues me, I am curious as to what is being hunted here; the humans or the robot-y things?

great work.

I love this sort of gritty, futuristic (is that a word?), speedpaint style. Well done.

Oh and the sign on that building says your name, doesn't it?

Gosh! More detail? Hehehe! :o That is quite an amazing scene and I'll definitely catch that article in 2DA! The atmospherics are incredible and this is so detailed already that I can't even imagine where you would put more. Superb art! :D

hey thanks.. about the article: it´s not a tutorial for the whole image.. only the base with the builidng is covered.. i changed a lot after finishing it. just that you are not expecting too much. :)

Any tidbits are more than welcomed by me! I know that 2DA doesn't go too crazy in depth with tutorial stuff, but it gives us some insight anyway. :D

Pretty cool! I love the mood and light effects here. The robot design is also pretty nice.

For me it's the opposite. I get lost in details when I paint ;-)

Best wishes, Jack - Mattedepartment

coming !!!! the good thing about the low detail sketches: they are fast.. during my normal work i have hardly time to do detailed images for myself... but i´ve got something in the works now.. but no idea when its finished

hahaha yea loose painting is always more fun! (=
sick piece though man
got any advice on color? even though this painting is kinda rough compared to your others, the colors are still realistic. do you use photos for color or did you develop an eye for it after lots of experience?

:iconraybender:
raybender Featured By Owner Jul 15, 2009
i think its both.. color reference is always good to have, but in this case i did it without.. though it wasnt that hard because this is some kind of standard color scheme found in a lot of pictures...

Cooles Bild.

D: Why!? It's a very important skill to have for any artist. It is also quite useful in many a circumstance. I can't imagine why you'd want to get rid of it. =P

hehhe.. yeah i just want to paint more cleaner when i want to.. :) anyway i have one important advice if you want to go for that style: loose respect of your work don´t worry to destroy it by painting over it loosely. hope that helps
